December 11, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6600 Airline Drive about 6:30 a.m. on Sunday (Dec. 10).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer J. Leon reported:

A white Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling southbound at the above address when it struck a white Chevrolet Impala traveling eastbound on East Parker Road. The crash in the intersection pushed the Impala into a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck stopped at a red light in the northbound lanes of Airline Drive.

Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the driver of the Impala deceased at the scene.

The male driver, 33, and female passenger, 37, in the Silverado were not injured.

Brayan Barrera, 20, the male driver of the Ford, showed signs of impairment. He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #4.

The investigation is ongoing.
