December 4, 2023 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 700 North Shepherd Drive about 11:35 p.m. last Thursday (Nov. 30).

The suspect, Sherry Ann Parsons, 32, is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 351st State District Court. A booking photo of Parsons, who is hospitalized, is not available for release at this time.

The identity of the male victim, 34, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer T. Smith reported:

Parsons was driving a white Mitsubishi Outlander the wrong way (northbound) in the southbound lanes of the above address when she struck a white Volkswagen Jetta traveling southbound. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the male driver of the Volkswagen deceased.

Paramedics transported Parsons to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. She was questioned, determined to be impaired and subsequently charged in the crash. Once she is released from the hospital, Parsons will be taken to the Harris County Jail.
