April 19, 2023 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 1200 Westheimer Road about 2:25 a.m. today.

The female suspect, 33, is facing a felony charge of intoxlcation manslaughter. Her identity will be released when the charge is formally filed in a court.

The identity of the deceased male victim, 33, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer T. Smith reported:

The female was driving a blue Porsche 911 Carrera westbound at the above address when she failed to maintain a single lane and struck a curb. The impact caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike the victim, a pedestrian, on the sidewalk. The vehicle continued to travel and struck a pole in a nearby parking lot.

Paramedics responded and pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene. The female and two passengers in the Porsche were transported to area hospitals.

Further investigation determined the female showed signs of intoxication. She remains hospitalized and will be subsequently charged.
