October 10, 2022 - The fatal shooting of a man at 8730 Westheimer Road about 2:45 a.m. today (October 10) will be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.

The identity of the deceased male, 19, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detective J. Jorsch and S. Overstreet reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and found the male lying on the ground. He had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics. Witnesses and the shooter, a female security guard, 27, stated the male pulled a gun from his waistband prior to the security guard pulling her own weapon and shooting the male.

The investigation was presented to the Harris County District Attorney's Office, who referred the case to a grand jury for review.
