Incident at 5800 Kashmere

September 22, 2007 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 5800 Kashmere about 2:20 a.m. today (Sept. 22).

The victim is identified as Fredrick Ogletree, 42, of 5622 Wipprecht. He suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide Division Sergeant M. Sosa and Officer E.R. Carstens reported:

Mr. Ogletree was standing in the roadway when approached by a black male suspect on a bicycle. According to witnesses, the two men began arguing about money that Ogletree owed the suspect when the suspect produced a handgun and shot Ogletree in the chest.

The suspect, who fled the scene, is only described as a black male in his late teens.
