December 12, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7900 Westheimer Road about 9 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 10).

The identity of the deceased female, 27, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Le and Officer J. Louangpho reported:

The female, a pedestrian, abandoned her disabled vehicle in the eastbound lanes of the above address and attempted to cross the main lanes of the roadway when she was struck by a blue Hyundai Sonata traveling westbound on Westheimer. Paramedics transported the woman to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The male driver, 19, remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was released. The investigation is continuing.
