April 25, 2022 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1200 Eldridge Parkway about 3 a.m. on Saturday (April 23).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer C. Brothers reported:

According to witnesses, a black Ford Explorer was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed and erratically when its driver ran a red light. A witness lost sight of the SUV and later found the vehicle had struck a tree in the center median at the above address.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the driver deceased.

No other vehicles or persons were involved in this crash.

The investigation is continuing.
