April 11, 2022 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of a man at 1319 Edmunson Street about 3:30 p.m. last Friday (April 8). 

The suspect, Alberto Camero, 35, is charged with murder in the 174th State District Court.  A booking photo of Camero is attached to this news release.  

He is accused in the death of Santos Gutierrez, 66.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives S. Chettry and A. Graf reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a person down call at the above address and found Mr. Gutierrez unresponsive and suffering from what appeared to be blunt force trauma.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Gutierrez deceased.  Camero, a neighbor of Gutierrez's, was detained at the scene.  

Further investigation determined Camero's involvement in Gutierrez's death and he was subsequently charged for his role in the fatal shooting.
