October 6, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a female at 800 Reid Street that occurred about 6:55 a.m. today.

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Lopez and Detective N. Sharp reported:

Officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found the victim lying in the roadway.  She had suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Witnesses stated they heard a verbal altercation between a male and female, followed by a gunshot.  A black male was then seen fleeing the area in a white, older model Ford or Chevrolet pickup truck.  The truck had a black colored front right quarter panel.
