Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 7929 Oak Knoll Lane
March 16, 2021 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 7929 Oak Knoll Lane about 7:40 p.m. on Sunday (March 14).
The suspect, Terrence Wilburn (b/m, 21), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct in the 178th State District Court. A booking photo of Wilburn is not currently available, pending further investigation.
The victim, Demon Lewis, 23, was transported to an area hospital with a wound to the neck.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives C. Johnson and M. Deleon reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a residence at the above address. Upon arrival, they learned Mr. Lewis had been shot and transported to an area hospital.
Investigators interviewed Lewis at the hospital about the incident. Witnesses also told detectives Lewis and the suspect, Wilburn, had exchanged words before Wilburn shot Lewis and then fired shots at residents. No one else was struck.
Wilburn then fled on foot, but was later arrested by HPD patrol officers.
