June 22, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 10700 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road about 12:50 a.m. today.  

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Uribe and Officer S. Bouarar reported:  

The victim was driving a gray Toyota Tacoma pickup truck westbound near the above address when the vehicle failed to stay in a single lane and struck a traffic signal pole.   The vehicle then caught on fire.  The driver died at the scene.  

The investigation is continuing.
