February 22, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6600 Crestmont Street that occurred about 5:35 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 21).

The identities of the two deceased victims - a man, 42, and a woman, 46 - are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant  R. Reinoso and Officer A. Mares reported:

The male driver of a red Ford Mustang was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound at the above address when the vehicle failed to maintain a single lane, veered off the roadway and struck a tree.  The Ford then burst into flames.  The driver and the female passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene.  No other persons or vehicles were involved in the crash.

The investigation is continuing.
