December 20, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 10100 Telephone Road about 9:20 p.m. last Friday (December 17).

The identity of the male victim, 21, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer V. Nguyen reported:

The victim, a pedestrian, was attempting to cross the roadway - not in a crosswalk - at the above address when he was struck by a black Chrysler 300.  Paramedics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann Hospital - Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.  

The driver, Jose Villarreal (H/m, 21), remained at the scene, was questioned and determined to be impaired.  He was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated.
