December 20, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1500 North Loop East (North Interstate Highway 610 East) service road about 4:45 a.m. on Sunday (Dec. 19).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer H. Nguyen reported:

The victim was driving a gray Chevrolet Silverado eastbound at the above address when he failed to drive in a single lane and struck a tree in the median.  The impact caused the vehicle to catch on fire.  Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
