Incident at 4306 Canal #3

December 27, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a woman at 4306 Canal #3 about 10 a.m. on Saturday (Dec. 23).

The victim, Martha Vega Penaloza, 32, of 4306 Canal #3 suffered multiple stab wounds and died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.T. Mosqueda and Officer L. Benavidez reported:

The five year-old daughter of Ms. Penaloza approached a neighbor and asked for help with her mother. The neighbor entered the victim's apartment and found her lying on the living room floor in a pool of blood. The neighbor then called police.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 6602 Madrid Street

December 16, 2021 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male at 6602 Madrid Street that occurred about 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday (December 15).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detective J. Escobar reported:

HPD patrol officers were in the area near the above address and heard a single gunshot. The victim was found in a parking lot of an apartment complex at the above address. He had suffered a single gunshot wound to the chest. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced him deceased.

At this time, there is no known motive or suspect(s).
