April 14, 2021 - Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 4498 Gessner Road that occurred about 5:55 a.m. today.  

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer R. Saenz reported:  

The driver of a blue Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling westbound on Clay Road and approaching the intersection at Gessner Road.  The victim crossed Clay at the Gessner crosswalk and was struck by the vehicle.  The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The driver, who was determined not to be impaired, remained at the scene.  It is believed the driver of the pickup truck had the green light and speed was not a factor in the crash.  

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
