September 9, 2020 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 4700 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) that occurred about 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday (September 8).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer S. Le reported:

The victim, a pedestrian, was attempting to run across the southbound lanes of the freeway at the above address when he was struck by a white Nissan NV3500 van.  Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. 

The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene, was questioned and released.  He did not show signs of intoxication.

The investigation is continuing.
