September 4, 2020 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 4000 Holmes Road about 5:55 a.m. today (Sept. 4).

The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross reported:

The victim was in a wheelchair and crossing the street at the above address - not in a crosswalk - when she was struck by a white Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling westbound on Holmes Road.  The male driver stopped.  Paramedics were called and pronounced the victim deceased.

Due to darkness and dim lighting, the driver stated he did not see the victim crossing the street.  The driver was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
