Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6100 Griggs Road
March 9, 2020 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 6100 Griggs Road about 5 p.m. last Friday (March 6).
The male victim, 53, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Gonzales and Officer J. Leon reported:
The victim was driving a gray Nissan Versa northbound at the above address and making a left turn onto Brock Street when his vehicle was struck by a green Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Griggs. The Nissan then struck a white Toyota Tundra parked on private property. Two children, an 8-year-old girl and 13-year-old boy, were standing nearby and were injured. They were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital.
The male driver, 19, of the Chevrolet was not injured and showed no signs of intoxication.
At this time, there are no charges in this incident as the investigation is continuing.
