Photo Released of Serial Bank Robbery Suspect

May 3, 2005 -- Investigators in the Houston Police Department Robbery Division (Violent Crime Task Force/Bank Robbery Task Force) are requesting the public's help in locating a wanted suspect in a series of bank robberies in the Houston area. Since April 23, 2005 until April 30, 2005, there have been 4 robberies believed to have been committed by the suspect.

The suspect has been identified as Gerald Allen Hayes (w/m DOB: 6-26-64). Hayes is 6' 01", 180 lbs., has brown hair and blue/green eyes. Hayes is also wanted for bank robberies in Austin, Dallas and San Antonio.

Sergeant David Ryza of the HPD Bank Robbery Task Force reported:

The suspect, Hayes, walks into a bank and approaches a teller. Hayes then presents a demand note and displays a dark colored handgun.
