Investigation into Shooting at 2602 Wheeler Street
January 3, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 2602 Wheeler Street about 7:45 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 2).
The victim, Freddie Scales, 39, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers M. Althaus and L. Bolmanski reported:
Mr. Scales was sitting in the driver's seat of his vehicle in the parking lot of a business at the above address when an unknown suspect walked by and then turned around to approach the vehicle. At some point, the suspect began firing multiple shots through the driver side window of the car, striking Scales more than once in the abdomen. The suspect fled the scene. Paramedics arrived and transported Scales to a hospital.
