Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5803 Flamingo Drive
January 2, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman found at 5803 Flamingo Drive about 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday (January 1).
The victim, Owena Martin McHenry, 78, of the above address, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives S. Overstreet and M. Arrington reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a call of a woman found deceased at the residence at the above address. She had suffered trauma to her head. Ms. McHenry's daughter and grandson went to check on her and found her deceased in her bedroom.
Further investigation determined McHenry filed a police report about 8 a.m. the same day , stating she heard gunshots about 1 a.m. and awoke to find her home had been shot multiple times.
At this time, there are no known witnesses or suspect(s).
