Investigation into Fatal Crash at 11100 Almeda Road
April 27, 2020 - A man critically injured in a crash at 11100 Almeda Road about 1 p.m. on April 18 has died from his injuries.
The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Uribe and Officer E. Gonzalez reported:
A white Jeep was making a left hand turn at the intersection of 1800 Reed Road and the above address and failed to yield the right of way. The driver of a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, travelling northbound on Almeda Road, attempted to avoid the Jeep, but both vehicles collided The impact caused the pickup truck to veer into the southbound lanes of Almeda Road and strike a Toyota Camry, which then struck a second black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. A white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, also traveling southbound on Almeda Road, failed to control speed and struck the rear of the Toyota.
The driver of the Camry was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in an unknown condition. Doctors pronounced him deceased on Saturday (April 25) from injuries sustained in the crash. The occupants of the other vehicles were not injured.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
