Investigation into Fatal Crash at 11500 North Freeway
May 7, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 11500 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 2 p.m. on Sunday (May 5).
The female victim, 1, was transported to Texas Children's Hospital where, on May 6, she was pronounced dead.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer D. Jones reported:
The driver of a blue Honda CR-V was traveling northbound at the above address when she may have suffered a medical episode. She then crossed multiple lanes of traffic and struck a tan Toyota Prius that was disabled and parked on the right-hand shoulder.
The victim, who was in a rear car seat in the Toyota, was seriously injured and transported to the hospital where she later died.
Currently, there are no charges in this incident, as the investigation is continuing.
