Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5700 Cullen Boulevard
December 30, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5700 Cullen Boulevard about 10:20 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 28).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer R. Veal reported:
An HPD officer observed the driver of a blue Nissan Altima commit a traffic violation and attempted a traffic stop of the vehicle in the 6700 block of Cullen Boulevard. The Nissan's driver fled northbound on Cullen Boulevard at a high rate of speed, evading the officer in the marked patrol vehicle.
About one minute later, one patrol officer lost sight of the vehicle. Another patrol officer found the Nissan a few minutes later. Its male driver lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway at the above address and struck a tree. Paramedics pronounced the driver of the Nissan deceased at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
