Investigation into Fatal Crash at 8900 North Houston Rosslyn Road
December 19, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 8900 North Houston Rosslyn Road about 10:25 p.m. on December 12.
The identity of the male victim, 54, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer F. Flynn reported:
The victim was intoxicated and walking on the sidewalk at the above address when he attempted to pick up an opossum, which tried to bite him. The victim then lost his balance and fell into the street where the driver of a gray Pontiac G8 was unable to avoid striking him. He was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where, on Wednesday (Dec. 18), he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Pontiac remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
