Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 8103 Martin Luther King Boulevard
Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 8103 Martin Luther King Boulevard about 11:35 p.m. on Monday (March 20).
The suspect, Frank Moaning (b/m, 75), is charged with murder in the 182nd State District Court. A photo of Moaning is attached to this release.
The victim, Tamaurick Hickmon, 22, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Simmons and Detective S. Overstreet reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a reported shooting at the above address and found Mr. Hickmon with a gunshot wound to the back. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to the hospital where he died.
While on the scene, officers viewed security footage from a nearby location and learned there had been a disturbance between the Hickmon and the suspect, Moaning. Following the disturbance, Moaning left the scene but returned moments later with a shotgun and shot Hickmon as he attempted to flee.
Moaning later returned to the scene and turned himself in to patrol officers. He was interviewed by Homicide detectives and arrested and charged in this incident.
