Investigators, Victim's Family Make Plea on Five-Year Anniversary of Man's Death

Houston police homicide investigators and family members of a man fatally shot at 8200 Peachtree on March 19, 2013, are asking for the public's help in identifying the killer(s).

In a news conference today (March 19) on the five year anniversary of the murder of Dameon Johnson, 36, his family urged anyone with information in the case to contact investigators or Crime Stoppers of Houston.
The investigation started about 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, when officers were dispatched to a major crash in the 8200 block of Peachtree.  When they arrived, they discovered Mr. Johnson in a ditch along the roadway.  He had been shot multiple times.  His vehicle, a 2008 white Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck, was in a ditch on the opposite side of the street.  The truck did not appear to be involved in a crash.
Further investigation determined Johnson was on his way to work (to Auto Zone at 9403 Jensen Drive) at the time of the shooting.
Five years later, there is no known motive or suspect(s) in the case.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.  Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest and charge in this case.
