UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 8125 Mills Road
January 8, 2017 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the shooting of a juvenile female at 8125 Mills Road about 12:10 a.m. today (January 5).
Ezra Carter (b/m, 18), is charged with aggravated assault on a family member in the 230th State District Court. A booking photo of Carter is attached to this news release.
The victim, 16, was transported to an area hospital to be treated for her wounds.
HPD Major Assaults Unit Detectives M. Barrow and R. Montalvo reported:
The victim and her boyfriend (Carter) were inside an apartment at the above address and were recording and sharing videos of Carter with a pistol in his hand. At some point, the weapon discharged and the victim was struck in her side by the gunfire. Carter fled the scene with the pistol. HFD paramedics transported the victim to the hospital.
On Friday, January 5, Carter turned himself in at the HPD Northeast Station at 8301 Ley Road.
