Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 4900 Malmedy Road
December 20, 2018 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 4900 Malmedy Road about 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 19).
The victim, Clamon Baines, 32, was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.
HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers S. Spivey and R. Pemberton reported:
Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the above address and observed an HFD ambulance driving away from the scene. Paramedics transported the victim (Mr. Baines) to an area hospital where he died.
The suspect, 30, remained at the scene and admitted to shooting his brother, Baines, in self-defense. The suspect was questioned by investigators and later released pending further consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
