Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5600 North Shepherd
December 13, 2018 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 5600 North Shepherd about 4:55 p.m. on Wednesday (December 12).
The victim, a female pedestrian, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer S. Coke reported:
The driver of a red Buick sedan was traveling southbound at the above address. As the driver entered the intersection, the female attempted to cross the street while not in a crosswalk and against the driver's green light. She was then struck by the Buick. According to a witness, the female had been acting erratically and was seen staggering in the area prior to the crash.
There are no charges in this incident, pending further investigation.
