Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7400 Ashcroft
October 30, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7400 Ashcroft about 3:55 a.m. on Saturday (October 28).
The identities and genders of both deceased victims are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Salazar and Officer J. Baker reported:
According to witnesses, the driver of a BMW 35i was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Ashcroft and ran a red light at the intersection of Bissonnet. The vehicle continued through the intersection at a high rate of speed and struck a tree on the south side of Bissonnet. The impact caused the vehicle to burst into flames. Both persons in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
