UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 4200 Mowery

May 25, 2017 - HOUSTON - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man the occurred at 4200 Mowery about 1:30 a.m. on June 11, 2016. 

The suspect, Vincent Mclendon (b/m, 28), is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of Carlos Castaneda, 23.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Senior Police Officer J. Roscoe reported:

A witness driving past the above address reported seeing the victim, Mr. Castaneda, lying in the street near a pickup truck.  Upon seeing Castaneda was bleeding, the witness called for Houston Fire Department paramedics.

A preliminary investigation determined Castaneda had driven to Houston from the Brownsville area for an unknown reason. 

Further investigation identified Mclendon as the suspect in this case and he was taken into custody on Wednesday (May 24) without incident.
