Investigation into Fatal Stabbing at 5625 Antoine

June 5, 2017 - The fatal stabbing of a male that occurred at 5625 Antoine #506 at 12 p.m. on Sunday (June 4) will be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.

James Reed, 56, of the above address was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officers C. Elder and D. Stark reported:

Mr. Reed returned to his apartment after drinking with friends and began to argue with his common-law wife.  As they were arguing, their son exited his bedroom and attempted to intervene to ensure the safety of his mother.  Reed then began to fight with his son, pinned him on the bed and began punching him in the face.  Reed's son grabbed a nearby knife and stabbed Reed in self-defense. 

The investigation is continuing.
