Suspect Arrested, Charged in Incident at 7200 East Freeway
June 26, 2017 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested following an incident that occurred at 7200 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) at about 11:35 p.m. on Sunday (June 25).
The suspect, Monte Justus Pounds, (b/m, 35), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 263rd State District Court.
The victim, Shannon Reeves, 34, suffered severe head trauma and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in an unknown condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Dodson and Officers J. Roberts and A. Ferrell reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a "complainant chasing a suspect" call at the above address and found a male (Mr. Reeves) lying in the roadway. He appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.
Further investigation determined Reeves had been intentionally struck while walking away from Pounds' vehicle following a verbal altercation. Pounds was later located and taken into custody without incident.
