Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6300 North Freeway

June 19, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 6300 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 5:30 a.m. on Saturday (June 17).

The identity of the female victim, 21, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer E. Rubio reported:

The victim was driving a black Lincoln Mark LT pickup truck southbound at the above address when she failed to maintain a single lane, drove through the grass on the west side of the freeway and onto the service road.  The pickup truck then struck a fire hydrant and fence.  The victim was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.  A male passenger was treated at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics for minor injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
