The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Fendia and Officer M. Nicotra reported:
A black Lincoln Navigator was traveling southbound on the freeway at the above address when the vehicle had a mechanical failure that caused it to lose control and spin across several lanes on the freeway. A motorcyclist, operated by the victim, was traveling behind the Lincoln. It is believed the victim locked up his brakes to avoid hitting the Lincoln. At that time, the victim and motorcycle struck the side of the Lincoln.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver of the Lincoln consented to a mandatory blood draw, and was questioned and released with no charges filed at this time. The investigation is continuing.
