Investigation into Fatal Crash at 9500 Gulf Freeway
August 25, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 9500 Gulf Freeway at about 2:40 a.m. today (August 25).
The victim, Brian Surginer, 59, of Houston, was transported to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Salazar and Officer M. Rios reported:
Mr. Surginer was operating a red Harley Davidson Street Glide motorcycle southbound on the Gulf Freeway and took the exit ramp to Edgebrook/Clearwood. Surginer then decided to get back on the freeway main lanes, failed to stay in a single lane and went into a grassy ditch area on the right shoulder of the freeway. He lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected. Surginer was transported by HFD paramedics to the hospital.
The investigation is continuing.
