Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5300 South Lake Houston Parkway
September 14, 2016 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman found at 5300 South Lake Houston Parkway about 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday (September 13).
The victim, Lekendra Childs, 19, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Senior Police Officer J. Roscoe reported:
Ms. Childs' boyfriend came home and found her lying on the bedroom floor deceased. HPD patrol officers responded to the scene and searched the apartment complex. Tenants of the complex told police a black, newer model Chevrolet Camaro with tinted windows stopped outside the apartment and several shots were fired from the vehicle through the apartment wall.
The suspect is described only as a black male who appeared to have a shaved head.
