Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5963 Katy Freeway
October 24, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal cash at 5963 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 1:10 a.m. on Sunday (October 23).
The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Thomas and Officer D. Robinson reported:
The driver of a blue Chevrolet Trax was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on the Katy Freeway and struck the rear of a black Honda Accord, also traveling eastbound. The Chevrolet lost control and spun around, facing oncoming traffic. The Chevrolet was then struck head on by a silver Chevrolet Malibu. The female passenger in the Trax was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. The other occupants of all three vehicles were also transported to area hospitals in unknown conditions.
The investigation is continuing.
