Suspect Charged in Fatal Shooting at 7320 Holtcamp
October 18, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect in the fatal shooting of a woman found at 7320 Holtcamp about 12:15 p.m. on March 20, 2016.
The suspect, Johnathon Sanchez (H/m, 28), is charged with murder in the 184th State District Court. g. He is accused in the killing of Esmeralda Martinez, 18, of the above address, who died at the scene. Sanchez is also charged with two counts of aggravated assault of a public servant in the same court for his role in an officer-involved shooting at 200 South 70th Street at about 9:30 a.m. that same morning (March 20).

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Semmelrock and Senior Police Office M. Stahlin reported:
Ms. Martinez's mother left the residence at the above address about 8 a.m., leaving Martinez and her boyfriend (Sanchez) at the location. Martinez's mother returned home about 12:15 p.m. and found her lying in her bed unresponsive, and Sanchez no longer at the residence. Neighbors then called 9-1-1. HFD paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Martinez deceased from multiple gunshot wounds.
Further investigation identified Sanchez as the suspect in this case. He was charged on Monday (October 17) and remains in custody in the Harris County jail.
