Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3109 Chimira Lane
November 28, 2016 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 3109 Chimira Lane about 12:15 a.m. on Saturday (Nov. 26).
The victim, Chazton R. Jones, 23, of the above address, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported by a private vehicle to the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Turner and Senior Police Officer J. Nguyen reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a reported drive-by shooting at the above address. Upon their arrival, witnesses reported a black Chevrolet Impala, occupied by multiple people, had driven eastbound on Chimira Lane. One or more of the Impala’s occupants had fired indiscriminately multiple times at the group of people in the driveway at the above address and also at a nearby residence at 3101 Chimira Lane. Mr. Jones is the only individual reported to have been struck. The driver of the Impala then continued eastbound on Chimira Lane toward Buffum Street.
