Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 444 Northwest Mall
November 15, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of two men at 444 Northwest Mall about 4:30 a.m. on Monday (November 14).
The suspect, Apolinar Aparicio-Mendez (H/m, 32), is charged with capital murder in the 179th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Pedro Sanchez, 24, and Juan Sanchez, 29, of Houston, who died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Miller and Officer C. Elder reported:
Pedro and Juan Sanchez were exiting the Club Chapa at the above address when they were confronted by a group of Hispanic males who had just exited the club. The men then got into a verbal altercation. A silver Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck pulled up to the group and the driver began taunting several of them, but did not exit the pickup truck. As Pedro and Juan Sanchez walked toward the vehicle, both men were shot. The suspect then fled in the pickup truck.
Nearby security officers witnessed the shooting and pursued the fleeing pickup truck to a dead-end at the Northwest Transit Center where they detained the suspect. The suspect was positively identified as Aparicio-Mendez and he was taken into custody by HPD patrol officers. Aparicio-Mendez admitted to his role in the shooting and he was subsequently charged.
