HPD, Victim's Family Seeks Public's Help in Fatal Shooting at 1200 Bigelow

May 6, 2016 - At a news briefing at 2 p.m. TODAY (May 6), investigators in the Houston Police Department's Homicide Division will discuss the case of a man found fatally shot at 1200 Bigelow about 12:15 on April 7.  Investigators will be joined by family members of the victim, Henry Kiherile, 32, who was pronounced dead at Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital.

The news briefing will be held in the first floor media briefing room of the HPD Edward A. Thomas Building at 1200 Travis.  Photos of the victim and the BMW he was driving are attached to this news release.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants R. Rodriguez, Sergeant B. Chebret and Officer K. Elliott reported:

Surveillance video shows Mr. Kiherile alone and pumping gas a Chevron station at 2102 North Main about 10:50 p.m. on April 6.  It is believed he was shot about 20 minutes later (11:08 p.m.) and left at the Bigelow address.  On April 7, HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Kiherile with a gunshot wound, lying in the street.  He was then transported by HFD paramedics to the hospital.

Further investigation determined Kiherile's vehicle, a 2009 BMW 328 with Texas license plates DZW-0119, was missing and believed stolen.  On April 7, video shows the BMW being driven into the Villas on the Greens Apartments at 9603 Homestead Road.  It was subsequently reported to police as being suspicious and recovered on April 12.

At this time, there are no known witnesses or suspects.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
