Investigation into Fatal Crash at 12000 Gulf Freeway
March 25, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12000 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 11:20 p.m. on Thursday (March 24).
The male victim, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roque and Officer T. Hill reported:
The driver of a yellow Chrysler minivan was traveling northbound on the Gulf Freeway and struck a pedestrian who was in a moving lane of traffic. It is believed the victim was walking in a moving lane of traffic or trying to cross the freeway at the time of the accident. The driver of the Chrysler was not impaired and was questioned and released at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
