Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 2211 North Freeway
June 7, 2016 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 2211 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 4 a.m. on June 15, 2015.
Michael Alexander Mejia (H/m, 23), is charged with murder in the 182nd State District Court. A mug shot of Mejia is attached to this news release.
Mejia is accused in the shooting of Jacob Bowman, 20, of Houston, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Holbrook and M. Miller and Senior Police Officer J. Roscoe and T. Miller reported:
Mr. Bowman was changing a flat tire at the Exxon service station at the above address when unknown suspects, driving a small white four-door sedan, pulled up. The front passenger then fired several shots at Bowman, killing him.
Further investigation revealed Bowman and Mejia had a fight earlier in the evening. Today (June 7), Mejia was arrested without incident and charged in this case.
