Officers Black and Calloway were in a two-man unit when they received information on the location of a stolen gray Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, driven by Roco. Officers located the vehicle, activated their emergency equipment, and initiated a vehicle pursuit. The Chevrolet was then pursued to the end of a dead end street. Roco then put the pickup truck in reverse, accelerated and intentionally struck the patrol vehicle, and continued to flee.
Officers pursued the pickup truck until it pulled into a driveway at the above address. Roco then exited the vehicle, armed with a pistol, and fired a shot at officers. Fearing for their lives, Officers Black and Calloway discharged their duty weapons but Roco was not struck. She immediately surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident. Roco's pistol and a shotgun were recovered at the scene.
As is customary in HPD officer-involved shooting incidents in the city limits, this case is being investigated by the HPD Homicide and Internal Affairs Divisions.
