Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 1353 Richelieu
December 30, 2016 - Houston police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide that occurred at 1353 Richelieu at about 5:30 a.m. today.
The victims, Vickie Acker Flanery, 63, and Charles Morton Acker, 96, both of the above address, were pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect, David Flanery, also of the above address, suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants S. Murdock and A. Semmelrock reported:
Houston Fire Department personnel responded to a house fire at the above address where both the house and the garage were on fire. After the fire was extinguished, three persons were discovered. Mr. Acker was found inside the garage apartment, Ms. Flanery was found inside the residence and David Flanery was found in the backyard. All three persons had apparent gunshot wounds to the head and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Further investigation by HPD homicide officers determined the incident was an apparent murder-suicide.
The investigation is continuing.
