Fatal Crash at 6001 South Sam Houston Parkway West
October 7 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6001 South Sam Houston Parkway West service road about 9 a.m. today.
The female victim was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Hall and Officer D. Rodriguez reported:
The victim was a passenger in a maroon Chevrolet pickup truck traveling southbound on West Fuqua. The truck stopped at a red light at the intersection of the South Sam Houston Parkway West service road. As the pickup truck proceeded through the green light, a blue Freightline dump truck traveling eastbound on the service road ran the red light and was struck by the pickup truck. The victim was ejected from the pickup. HFD paramedics arrived and transported her to the hospital. The driver of the dump truck, who showed no signs of intoxication, was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
