May 26, 2015 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a home invasion suspect at 2000 Bay Area Boulevard about 12:50 p.m. on Sunday (May 24).

The suspect, Todd Bickley (w/m, 50), was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Parker and Officer S. Sylvester reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a home invasion in-progress at an apartment complex at the above address.  Upon arrival, officers found Bickley detained by several witnesses.  Witnesses reported Bickley had tried to force his way into one of the apartments occupied by a woman, 30, and had fought with one of the witnesses who successfully prevented him from entering the apartment.  HFD paramedics also responded to the scene and transported Bickley to a hospital after he began experiencing medical problems.  

The investigation is continuing.
